How To Relieve Lower Back Pain At Home

Low back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide, according to the Global Burden of Disease 2010. One-half of all working Americans admit to having back pain symptoms each year. You might be surprised to learn that there are some simple things that you can do to overcome problems with lower back pain at home. Here are spinal health tips that will help relieve your back pain naturally.

If you are having low back problems losing weight may help alleviate the pain.  Although this may not be the solution for every case, it is true that carrying around excess weight can make a difference in your overall spine health. The spinal segments tend to buckle and even compress underneath the additional weight that you are carrying around.  Your hips may also shift forward in order to compensate for the extra weight and this can irritate your delicate nerves and blood vessels. Lose a little bit of weight and you may just find that your lower back pain goes away as a result.

Strengthening your core muscles 2-3 days a week with a series of gentle exercises, such as Pilates or yoga can do a lot to help you overcome lower back pain.  Stretching your hamstrings, glutes and psoas muscles in the morning is an excellent way to deal with any back problems that you may have.  If you keep this area of your body limber you have a better chance of not having backaches in the future.

I know this seems like a no brainer…make sure that you are hydrated properly.  Drinking half your body weight of water (in ounces) every day along with taking some natural sea salt will ensure that you are not experiencing back pain as a result of dehydration.

Doing a combination of these three things can help you limit flare ups of lower back pain. Put forth the effort and the benefit of the lack of back pain in your life will be worth it.
